“Thank you for working hard to produce your first draft.” These words of encouragement from my editor should have alerted me to what was coming. Three years ago I started with an end-times skit called RIVER OF LIFE. Then in August of 2023 I embarked on writing ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE MARK OF THE BEAST. Just two months ago I realized the title most suited to my novel is TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART—about a young couple who realize as they are about to say their vows to one another in marriage that the Beast (or Antichrist) is already on the world scene. Hence our heroine, Izzy, bemoans that their marriage will likely only be until the rapture, when believers will be taken up to meet Jesus in the sky, rather than until death.

TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART is going through another rewrite. I have a fine editor—Michele Chynoweth, author of many modern-day renditions of Bible stories. Her story of Cain and Abel made into a modern mystery novel is called THE JEALOUS SON. This year it is being made into a movie, and the lead actress is Catherine Lidstone of The Chosen. So Michele is a master author, and a master at writing and rewriting (she had to rewrite her book for a movie!)

So now it is my turn to rewrite—to develop my character Izzy, her struggles and challenges, and to focus on her journey throughout the book. My early readers know that I, also, weave some of Israel’s flight into the wilderness into the story. Rewriting is no easy task. But by my God “I can run against a troop, I shall leap over a wall.” (Ps. 18:29)

Will you pray as I rewrite TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART in such a way as to glorify God and to fulfill its purpose? March 1st is my deadline, by God’s grace.
