Author Ruth Harbour
MISSIONARY, TEACHER, and SPEAKER

“And this is life eternal, knowing you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
~ John 17:3

Ruth Harbour’s heart is full of a good theme—the love of God and His full redemption. Hence, Redemptive Writing was born! After spending over forty years in Taiwan as a missionary, she now feels a renewed urgency to help people be ready for the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ—because He promised, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and I will take you to myself…” (John 14:3).

“There is an event so big that missing it would be tragic—that is the soon coming of our Lord Jesus Christ! Yes, He is coming again. Are you ready?”

A missionary wife, mother, and grandmother, Ruth is passionate about the Bible—especially eschatology, spiritual formation, and missions. Her mission is to communicate—through writing, song, and speaking—the joy of knowing God. Join her as she works on her first end-times novel, TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART, and as she shares insights, resources, and encouragement for your walk of faith. We are community in Christ—welcome to Ruth’s website!

FEATURED BOOK – “TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART”

Coming Soon! TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART is a compelling love story set during the rise of the Beast, inspired by biblical prophecy. Follow two young lovers in Jerusalem as end-times events unfold—discover how the Rapture happens, watch the Jewish people flee from the fury of the Beast, and see the fate of those who choose or refuse the mark. This end-times drama, rooted in Scripture, will keep you turning pages and pondering your own readiness for Christ’s return.

“A very enjoyable read—biblical and well written.” ~ Kevin Swymer, Early Reviewer

How My Book's Characters Spoke to Me

Recently I have had the privilege to participate in a weeklong “Soul Journey” retreat with my husband Mark. This is the first of four retreats over the next eighteen months to learn how to be someone’s spiritual director within a small group setting. It is really all about drawing close to Jesus, and living life out of our relationship with him rather than being stuck in all that keeps us busy and the baggage and wounds which keep us from that loving relationship. I witnessed healing and deliverance for...read more

Payback in Taiwan Idolatry Culture

Charles’s father came from a family of nine—four brothers and five sisters. Charles’ grandfather served in the local temple as a medium and priest to the community. People would go to him seeking help and deliverance from problems. This man wielded power, and people saw results. He became very popular with the locals. Grandfather’s power could not save Charles’ three older brothers. They all died in alcohol-related accidents when they were only in their thirties and forties. The Taiwanese...read more

“Thank you for working hard to produce your first draft.” These words of encouragement from my editor should have alerted me to what was coming. Three years ago I started with an end-times skit called RIVER OF LIFE. Then in August of 2023 I embarked on writing ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE MARK OF THE BEAST. Just two months ago I realized the title most suited to my novel is TILL THE RAPTURE DO US PART—about a young couple who realize as they are about to say their vows to one another in marriage that the...read more

The Father's Love

One of my favorite Bible stories is one Jesus told of the Prodigal Son. We read it in Luke 15. The youngest son asks his father for his half of the inheritance. . .something one does not do, as an inheritance is meant for AFTER your parents pass away! And to make matters worse, that son takes the money his father gave him, leaves home for a far away place, and wastes it all on loose living. It is like the son slaps his father in the face, then further shames him by the bad choices he makes—pursuing his own pleasure...read more

Artists’ Alert—Did You Know?

Fellow Creators, let’s prepare our hearts for some thoughts on the high and holy calling of artistry. Listen to Mark Lowry’s singing of his creation, “Mary, Did You Know?”.  This song is so poignant, and so real, it draws one right to the throne of God, worshiping Him for this indescribable gift of His son. God in human flesh. God come down to accomplish salvation for mankind. Did you know that Jesus came to pick you up out of the emptiness of living for oneself to restore you to a...read more

Accepted by God

“When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.” They were prayers from the heart of a girl seventeen years old—prayers of surrender, whispers of love, songs of thanksgiving for God’s unconditional love. She had only recently been delivered from self-contempt; she had felt awkward, self-conscious about her physique; she mourned the fact that she said and did things in anger which she...read more
